Thinking out loud
2008 July 23
Sorry, still no time to upload photos from the vacation, or even a detailed play-by-play. But I’m working on it!
I do have time for this tonight:
- Kids’ Camp is going great! Just two nights left, and the last three nights have gone really well. I’m helping out with one of the 4-year-old groups (there seem to be about 40 kids in that age group, and about 450 total) and they’re a lot of fun to be with! We’re having a “custom garage” themed VBS, so everything involves cars, including the games and snacks and Bible verses. :)
- The weather has been amazing here… wish I could be outside instead of working all day! It was hard to go from vacation mode to work mode. And it’s hard to get up in the morning yet because I’m still on Phoenix time.
- It’s been a rough few days, break-up wise. It was really hard to come home to an empty house Sunday night and not be able to call him to talk about the vacation. And then yesterday and today people asked me how Marin’s doing and when we’ll get to see each other. Obviously they hadn’t heard, so I had to tell them we’re not together, and saying it again brought the emotions to the surface. Life feels pretty dreary except for the times when I’m distracted by 4-year-olds or conversations with friends and family.
- My front brakes are fixed and I’m scheduled for orientation at GV in a couple weeks. Those are good things to check off the list. Hopefully I can change the oil this weekend when I’m up at the farm. And it should be a good weekend for another bike ride!
- Jon Mayer’s “Say” is on the radio right now, and then I’m going to bed to the sounds of Mamma Mia! thanks to Julie. :)
Until next time,
Jen
