First thoughts of the Festival

It’s really past time to be in bed, but you must hear how wonderful the Festival of Faith and Writing was! It was spectacularly sunny and warm all three days, which was enough in itself to raise our spirts! It was also brilliantly planned and expertly run. The lecture and workshop speakers were interesting, divergent, well-read, engaging, inspiring, encouraging and honest.

The most surprising thing was how often I fought back tears, even during the workshops that should have been pretty straightforward, like finding a metaphor for your writing process. It was probably a combination of many things that converged in my life for those three days.  They all created quite an emotional elixir. It was good, though. I’ll write more about some highlights later.
